The nice thing about packing for a canoe camping trip is that you can pack a few more supplies into the body of the canoe, without carrying it on your back like in traditional camping. However, because canoeing can lead to quite the unexpected sort of adventures, you need to be sure to remember to pack first aid supplies into the canoe. All sorts of emergencies can occur in a boat. If you get thrown out of the boat from a rapid or a wave, you can get banged up and bruised. If you’ve properly packed your canoe with the right type of first aid supplies, you will be able to clean the wound, dry it off, put antibiotic ointment on it, and put a bandage over the cut. You will then be able to continue with your canoe trip without being concerned about an infection slowing you down, or even forcing you back home.
